Baysville Curling Club – Meeting Minutes for October 28, 2020

Attendees: Lili Davis-Burchat, Pam & Al Bowen, Sylvain Desjardins, Don Evans, Cathy Hoare, Dianne Jones Regrets: Gerry McCall Carol and Terry Kouvoumjian, Keith Southy

Fundraising

1. Dianne presented 5 fundraising initiatives for approval

   • Freezer full of food

   • Online auction

   • Christmas tree sale (members only)

   • Charitable donation with receipt

   • Sweatshirt sale

   • Don motioned to approve and Lili seconded. Everyone in favour. Motion passed

Winter draw

1. Sylvain proposed that we do not open for the winter given the Covid cases are as high or higher than the first wave. Everyone agreed

Financials

1. Sylvain presented the 2020-2021 forecasted financials

2. Board has decided to hire an accountant.

   • Action: Al and Sylvain to obtain 3 quotes

3. Action: Don will arrange for the phone to be suspended for 6 months.

Club visits

1. Anyone visiting the club should sign the sheet at the front door to record their visits

Snow removal

1. Action: Don and Sylvain will look for volunteers to plow out the pathway to the front door and the front door entrance

Ice costs

1. Sylvain spoke to Scott and he confirmed that we won’t have to pay any ice installation costs such as brine given we are not installing any ice this year

2. Action: Lili to create a letter notifying the township that we will not be installing ice this year
